Marisa Thomas

Founder, Pivotal Media

Marisa Thomas is the founder of Pivotal Media. From Silicon Valley to Singapore, she works with leaders at the forefront of technology, finance, business and entertainment, helping turn complex ideas into compelling narratives. She brings a rare combination of journalistic instinct and global experience to high-stakes communication.

Marisa began her communication coaching career in Singapore in 2012, quickly building a global client base across Asia, North America, Europe and Australia. She has prepared executives to take the stage at some of the world's most prestigious forums including the World Economic Forum, TED, Milken, DealBook, Forbes, and Cannes. She helps teams launch products, sit down with journalists at Bloomberg or CNBC, or speak candidly to their own teams, boards, and investors. Marisa helps them shape their messages and land them with confidence.

She works on some of the most important issues of the 21st-century: artificial intelligence, semiconductors, cybersecurity, crypto and blockchain, autonomous vehicles, alternative proteins, environmental sustainability, e-commerce, fashion, beauty, and more. She has helped scientists explain how industrial gases are layered into semiconductors, guided quants in communicating the limits of their data, and coached founders navigating the regulatory and public perception challenges of emerging technology.

Before founding Pivotal Media, she spent 12 years as a television journalist at Canada's top-ranked nightly newscast, where she reported thousands of stories and learned how to convey complex information simply and powerfully.
